The second in a series of Thought Leader Conferences organised by The Academy for Chief Executives (ACE) took place earlier this month. ACE provides a unique forum in which CEOs expand their expertise through leadership training, executive coaching and mentoring. The conferences have been designed to showcase the innovative learning processes which not only develop more successful businesses, but transform the lives of ACE’s chief executive members.
Investec private bank hosted the day-long programme at their prestigious offices in the City of London.
Kevin Kelly - International Speaker
Over sixty chief executives attended, who during the morning session, were enthralled by international speaker & best-selling business author Kevin Kelly (a rare treat since Kevin infrequently speaks in the UK) on his topic of “Basics before Buzz”. Kevin concentrated on providing practical steps to exceptionalise service and retain hard-won customers. On evaluating the workshop afterwards, participants rated Kevin very highly and were impressed with the take-away value received.
During the afternoon, delegates split into smaller groups led by ACE Chairmen and participated in a live ‘business issues session’. This is a process referred to by ACE as ‘The Board You Could Never Afford®’ in which attendees help each other solve a very real problem or opportunity within their organisation. Both prospective and current members took part and reported huge value in the experiential business learning they received from this unique process.
